In Regards to Diaspora

2021 / Installation

With Regard to Diaspora is a three-screen video installation that explores the Palestinian maker’s journey of migration from Amman, Jordan to Montreal, Canada. The work is made up of three character-based vignettes playing on three digital screens and explores the effects of migration and Diaspora, on the individual, while also being a meditation on the politics of representing racialized and politicized bodies and experience. The choreography of the vignettes playing on the different screens, weave together a non-linear narrative that is caught in an anxiouse loop, jumping back and forth between Amman, Jordan and Montreal, Canada.

The three vignettes playing in a loop are: P is for Palestine, I would like to visit, As A (aka Cold).
